Squish, just like grape (rights, rants)

Holy Canoli, Batman!

Just read this little snippet about how Verizon lost the suit the RIAA brought against them (which would force Verizon to reveal the identity of a user that downloaded 600 songs in one day off the internet).

This is like the clash of the titans. On one hand, I think Verizon is doing the right thing – sticking up for the privacy of us little guys against the monopolistic RIAA (who cares if they are a group of corporations – together, they own the market, and rape everyone because they can, then whine when their own decisions bite them in the ass, but that’s another topic).

On the other hand, I don’t like Verizon very much. You can spend years waiting to talk to a real human if you have a problem, and they make it very difficult for hobbiests to have any fun with their home PCs (ISP policy).

So I’m stuck cheering for the enemy, because the enemy’s enemy is worse.
